How we verify our sources

The rules we never break

• Quoted text is verbatim. Every hadith and dua is transcribed word for word from its source — including archaic phrasing, bracketed insertions and even the source's own typographical quirks. We never paraphrase, "improve", shorten or re-punctuate a sacred text. If a text cannot be verified against its source, we drop it rather than approximate it.
• Every quote carries its exact reference — collection and number (for example, Sahih al-Bukhari 1979 / Sahih Muslim 1159), with a link to the source page wherever one exists.
• Gradings are shown honestly. Where a collection grades a narration (Sahih, Hasan, Da'if), we print that grading with the reference and use weaker narrations only for gentle encouragement — never to establish a ruling.
• Our own words are clearly our own. Introductions, explanations and practical tips are written by us in plain English and never blended into a quotation.

Where the texts come from

Our quoted texts live in a small, fixed set of verified banks: the Forty Hadith Qudsi, the forty Rabbana duas of the Quran, and individually transcribed narrations from the major collections (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan an-Nasa'i) as published on sunnah.com, with Quranic translations in the Sahih International style. Each entry was transcribed against its source page and is stored with its reference and link.

The automated guard

Humans make copy-paste mistakes, so we don't rely on care alone. sunnahfast's test suite includes a quote-integrity check that runs before any change can ship: every quotation in every article is compared, character for character, against the verified banks. If anyone — including us — edits a quoted text or introduces a quote that hasn't been verified, the build fails and the change cannot be published.

The same discipline applies to the emails: the reminder templates draw their hadith from the same banks, so what lands in your inbox is the same verified text, every time.

What we are not

We are engineers who love this sunnah, not muftis. sunnahfast tells you what the sources say and when the days fall — it does not issue rulings. For anything beyond "the 13th is on Tuesday", please ask a qualified scholar you trust. And where practice legitimately varies (like moon sighting), we follow the standard Umm al-Qura reckoning and give you a ±1 day adjustment rather than pretending there is only one answer.
